The Brazilian shoe manufacturer's Chamber of Commerce, called Abicalcado, has petitioned for its Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade Development to investigate.
The Brazilian ministry is expected to investigate the price of Made In Vietnam shoes including leather, rubber, plastic, synthetic and tanned ones.
"Brazil has never been a major targeted export market for Vietnamese shoes because this country is one of the leading footwear producers of the world," said Nguyen Thi Tong, general secretary of Vietnam Leather and Shoes Association (Lefaso).
So far, there is no correspondence from Brazil to the Lefaso on the matter, added Tong.
